About OCD

The Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised (OCI-R) is a self-report measure for assessing symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It consists of 18 items composing 6 subscales: washing, checking, ordering, obsessing, hoarding and neutralizing. It is a highly useful diagnostic screening instrument in research and clinical settings. The revised OCI improves on the parent version in 3 ways: it eliminates the redundant frequency scale, simplifies the scoring of the subscales, and reduces overlap across subscales.

When should you consider this assessment?

If several of these experiences have been present for two weeks or more and are affecting your daily life — work, sleep, relationships — a screening assessment is a good first step to understand what you are going through.

How the assessment works

About 8 minutes. Each one asks how often you have experienced something recently. You can go back and change any answer before you submit, and you will see every answer on a review screen first.

What happens after?

You will get a patient-friendly report: a severity band, a breakdown of which areas weigh heaviest, key observations from your answers, and clear next steps. If it would help to talk to someone, we will suggest therapists who work with ocd.
